- Role:
- Editor
- Genre:
- Dystopia
Description:
The Other Kind is a film about Jace, a reputable A-tier student in a school which strictly separates students into A and C-tier according to their grades. They have dehumanized school rules that C-tier students are completely segregated from A-tier students, specifically, they are not allowed to go to A-tier dorms and talk to them. Jace’s friend Edward, a C-tier student, has heart-attack issues and needs pills on time. He once ran out of pills and texted Jace to deliver the pill to him at the C-tier dorm, which Edward’s mother gave to Jace, or he would die soon because of his illness. Jace experienced significant inner conflicts between disobeying school rules and saving her friend on her way to Edward’s C-tier room, and she finally decided to act against the school rules, fighting against dehumanization.

StoryBoard Drawing
I wrote the script and shot a film based on that. This project re-tells the plot through drawings. I re-arranged the scenes from the actual footage so the storyboard feels more imaginative than a plain copy of the film.

Name:Unfinished Diary
- Role:
- Director
- Genre:
- French New Wave
Description:
Unfinished Diary is a film about the girls from different social class: Leyi, brave and naive, was a wealthy girl studying in the school near a village, and Grace, a poor girl operating a noodle stand in the village with her brother whose parents were in poor health and needed money. They became friends after an accident, and later created warm memories playing together in the village. Leyi stole a bottle of liquor from the shop due to her curiosity and teenage rebellion, while Grace scapegoated her and was brought to the police cell because Leyi was willing to pay her mother’s medical expense as reward. Grace suffered criticism of the villagers after being released by the polices, and her brother decided to leave the village under the high pressure of losing customers at their noodle stand caused by criticism. The two friends faced different outcomes after this experience simply due to the great disparity in their social class.

Name:Unconscious
- Role:
- Director
- Genre:
- Psychoanalytical theory
Description:
Unconscious is primarily unfolded from two memories of bullying the protagonist Ally encountered in her previous school, being stimulated by the two triggering objects ‘water’ and ‘bodily contact’ in her new school. The water that her new friend Eva accidentally poured onto Ally’s hand when she was reaching tissues serves as a key that triggers Ally’s memories of school bullying: the bullying group pouring the water directly to her face is her unconscious fear of water, leading to a flashback of bullying scene in Ally’s mind. Eva’s bodily contact of holding Ally’s arm also evokes Ally’s memories of being led into the toilet and suffered the physical violence by the bullying group
